PayPal is the leader, making up roughly 24% of the market. The service processed $12.2 billion in the most recent quarter, a 34% increase in volume from a year earlier. PayPal is huge and growing. With eBay branding, it now boasts 73 million users, making it by far the largest online payment service. While figuring out my options (none!), I discovered that PayPal is not a bank, and there is no agency that regulated them. You have no repeat NO protection against having your money stolen or even sent to the wrong place.
 
Opening an account with PayPal is free and you don't need an Internet Merchant's Account. Their charges are scaled according to the amount of sales with lower charges for those who are selling in bulk. Many businesses have been led to believe that PayPal is the best solution for their business.
 
PayPal is preparing a new feature on a select range of users that allows them to securely store files with the payments provider. The new service, called DropBox, creates a secure storage area that is associated with the account. PayPal is a leading global online payment company, founded in 1998. It was acquired by eBay in 2002. But for local purchases within Australia, PayPal is useless and so much slower than using traditional payment methods. I used to have my bank account linked to my PayPal account for ages, and transferring money from PayPal to my bank account was fairly painless apart from the transfer fees.
